Caran d'Ache have introduced a beautiful range of writing instruments for Christmas - the Caran d'Ache Harvest collection. This collection has been inspired by the yearly harvest of pearls throughout the world. Each writing instrument is unique as each pearl used to create this collection is unique and exclusive. This range offers a Fountain Pen, Rollerball and a Ballpoint pen. Caran d'Ache are known for their passion for combining jewellery and fine writing resulting in some unique creations which symbolise elegance, sensuality and rarity. The pearls used in these beautiful writing instruments are Akoya pearls, which are typically cultured seawater pearls also sometimes known as Japanese pearls due to the fact they were originally cultured in Japan. More recently with advances in technology, China now produce Chinese Akoya pearls generally the ones, which are under 7mm in size. Akoya pears are white, cream and have various shades of silver or pink overtones
Jewellery and fine writing combined
Each writing instrument is entirely hand made and consists of a brass barrel which is silver plated with a platinum finish. Each writing instrument is decorated with five Akoya pearls which have a beige-pink lustre. The Fountain pen is set with three identification 1,2mm, -.24 carat brilliant cut diamonds and two for the Rollerball pen, whilst the ballpoint pen has one diamond in the cap.
