Celebrating womankind with words

Laurel Burch is a self taught artist and has been creating beautiful works of art since the mid sixties. In a quote from the artist, Laurel Burch has said "The purpose of my art is to inspire living from the heart. I want to create in a way that celebrates life in the most intimate and precious ways possible. My hope is that in creating each image, a part of the immense heart of womankind could be embraced". The Laurel Burch collection consists of four themes. The Lover's, Mystical Horses, Fantastic Felines and the Spirit of Womankind. Each of these wonderful themes consists of four individually designed books. The journal covers are beautifully illustrated with vibrant colours and flowing lines, which in the case of the Lover's theme, capture the joy of seduction between lovers. In the Mystical Horses range, Laurel Burch indulges her life-long passion for the horse, a creature of mythology through the millennia whose power, beauty and vitality never fail to inspire awe. The Fantasic Felines range is beautifully decorated with lively colours and imagery of one of our most enigmatic pets, the cat. Whilst finally, the Spirit of Womankind is exquisitely embellished with gold and silver combined with vibrant paints and paper.
