Schneider's Environmental Philosophy
Protecting the world's basic natural resources
An essential part of Schneider's business philosophy is the protection of the world's basic natural resources. This philosophy is the backbone of their daily business and manufacturing actions and has been for the past ten years. Their ecological attitude is reflected in all parts of the company from the administration offices, heated by electricity which is generated by their own photovoltaic solar power plant and their own block-type thermal power station, the manufacturing plants which use energy sourced 100% from waterpower, right through to the product conception. Schneider's products are designed for longevity and many of their pens can be easily cleaned and refilled - meaning less waste!
Think Green campaign
Schneider is very proud to be (to date) the only writing instrument manufacturer who has been certified by EMAS - the world's most superior regulation, the EU ecological audit. EMAS has an obligation to permanently strive towards new ecological goals and has to constantly evaluate and consider the direct and indirect effects manufacturing has on our planet. In principle Schneider only uses raw meterials which conform to the strict rules of consumer protection, and product safety. All products and packaging are free from cadmium and PVC and they automatically recycle used sprue bushes by immediately grinding them up in the moulding process.
